Big Sky Country (Montana) 2019

I am currently based in South Central Los Angeles, but have moved around California most of my life. Like a lot of artists, I started drawing at a very young age. As my interests grew, I was exposed to many different genres and mediums such as painting, sculpture, and illustration; ultimately leading to my decision to study art as a means to a career.

I started thinking about design as a career right after high school. After researching graphic design, I had discovered my niche; a field which was flexible enough to accommodate just about all my creative curiosities. Soon I made the decision to pursue it.

I spent the first few years of college studying the fundamentals of art and design, then began freelancing for family and friends. I have never been satisfied with just a pencil, pen, or paintbrush…I like to experiment. Though I have worked in various materials, my primary mediums are graphite pencil, charcoal, pastel, color pencil, gouache and rapidograph pen. Some of my influences are graphic artists and illustrators with dynamic, imaginative and detailed styles such as Moebius, Geoff Darrow, Travest Charest, Simon Bisley and Alex Ross.

I received my Associate of Arts degree in Studio Design from El Camino College before earning a scholarship to study at The Academy of Art in San Francisco. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from The Art Institute in Santa Monica, Los Angeles where I continue to freelance.
